D-Star Gateways enable users to connect from a local D-Star repeater, equipped with a D-Star Gateway, to any other Gateway equipped D-Star repeater.

The D-Star User Group Northern was formed in January 2008,
by Ernie G4LUE, Chris G0URG, Mark G1ANI, Andy 2E0BLF and Jeff M3VYV.

Up to date the the group have invested thousands of pounds and lots of time in to the GB7YD project.

GB7YD Port C went into service at approximately 17:45 on  15th February 2008.
GB7YD Port B went into service at approximately _ _ _ add date_ _ _ .
Initially Port B experienced a tremendous amount of interference from what appeared to be low powered devices.

This forced Port B temporarily off air whilst the group applied for a new frequency pairing.
